This may be off topic but how do I use the course to overcome social media addiction? It's one of the most harmful things in my life, it's so toxic and it is constantly making me feel angry and anxious. I don't know if I can get anywhere with transformation if I can't release the grip of this ultra toxic thing from my life.

Thank you for this conversation and for being allies. I’m a queer person who was raised as an evangelical Christian. I spent my teen years isolated in terror and despair because I believed my family would reject me and that I’d burn in hell for eternity. Recovering from that trauma has been a long, hard road, and 20 years later I still grieve for that kid. But ACIM restored my relationship with God. “God does not forgive because He has never condemned. And there must be condemnation before forgiveness is necessary.” That quote was a breakthrough for me. As for the issue of having children, I’m hearing Robert say, essentially, that God’s ideal is for each of us to have biological children so that His creations can incarnate in this world. But it feels off to me to position this as an “ideal” because that would mean parenting existing humans instead, either literally or spiritually, is less than ideal. And I don’t see that hierarchy expressed in the text you shared. To go from “God’s will is that sex relations are intended for having children” and “Children are miracles” to “God’s will is for everyone to have children” seems like a big jump. Because if we’re speaking of ideals here, if we’re speaking of a scenario where everyone lives in alignment with God’s will, then who is to say that everyone would be having selfless sex and having children? Isn’t it more likely that those God willed to have children would have infrequent, selfless sex, and those God willed not to have children would not have sex at all? I’m a gay male. Would God’s ideal for me entail me having sex with a woman and raising children with her? I think that’s irrelevant to even consider, because I didn’t come into this life with a healed mind that had transcended sexual desire, and God knew that. There was obviously a different plan for me. It seems to me that “You should live so that God is free to arrange temporary human constellations as He sees fit” means “You should live without excluding others from your love, and you should live unselfishly, for God’s will,” which means following guidance, and is not necessarily a prescription for procreation. There’s an individual plan for each of us, and it’s not second-best for that plan to omit procreation. Ramana Maharshi, for example, moved into alignment with God’s will early in life and never had biological children, but had many spiritual children. It’s the next sentence, the one about guilt, that seems most to suggest that having children is God’s will for each of us, because it suggests that not having children might elicit guilt. But following from the previous sentences, “Nothing…should be used selfishly. The pleasure from using anything should come from utilizing it for God’s will,” is it possible that the guilt referred to is not about not having children, but rather about having used sex for selfish pleasure? The children, after all, were not necessary, because many “who are already here need spiritual parents.” Just wanted to put that out there because even though I heard you loud and clear that we’re not to feel guilty for not having children, I think it’s potentially harmful to be sharing a teaching that God’s “ideal” is that we all have children. I don’t think that’s what these passages are saying.

I heard a popular course teacher (not KW) say "No one needs to read another version of the Course let alone publish it" and say that Helen was a "Prude" that's why the material about sex was taken out because it had come through tainted by her beliefs, what are your thoughts? I was really looking forward to this from the Circle and Robert and Emily. Infact as Robert has pointed out in the Illuminated Texts too that there is not a single positive reference to Human Body anywhere in the FIP too. I loved the CE and got hooked to it due to it clarity in communicating material related to sex with such openness and compassion and it really helped me go beyond it and depend on the Holy Spirit. …also, Jesus Christ never mentions homosexuality in the Bible. He talks about sexuality amorality referring to child molestation, multiple sex partners, masturbation, porn, but no mention of homosexuality because it’s NOT A SIN, PAULEAN CHRISTIANS!! All of the books of the Bible that mention anything about homosexuality being a sin was written by the FALSE Apostle Paul. He was an impostor, and traitor to our Lord Jesus. You need to be aware of “The Wolf”!! You can’t be a Christian for Jesus and be a Christian for the “Apostle” Paul both because they were teaching completely different concepts. So you have to pick one or the other; can’t have it both ways. Jesus said "If you love me, keep my commandments" in the Bible, John 14:15. The verse continues, "And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you". The Apostle Paul said that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus and not by our own efforts or works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Grace Alone. Faith Alone. These are in diametrical opposition to each other. Also, Jesus never appointed “Apostle” Paul as one of his 12 apostles. Paul appointed himself as an apostle. He said he saw Jesus in the wilderness on the road to Damascus where a light from heaven flashed around him. Acts 9:3-20 Jesus said Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. Compare his letters with the Gospels and it is so obvious what he did, and he is a son of the priests like Yeshua warned of. Yeshua teaches that the law will remain and not one jot or one tittle shall be changed from the law till heaven and earth pass away. Matthew 5:18 We are still here so God’s laws remain in full. Paul teaches otherwise. The author of lies is Satan and Saul/Paul teaches lies. Some of what he says is true but then he mixes in lies and this is exactly Satan’s methodology. God hates lies AND half truths. Yeshua tells us the way to heaven is to do God’s will and that those that do not do God’s will practice lawlessness. So Yeshua promotes God’s will (aka God’s laws) and Saul teaches against God’s laws and calls them burdensome and ‘against us’. God’s laws are the way to life through Yeshua. Christianity does not follow Yeshua/Jesus - they say they do, but truly they do not because they rely completely on Saul’s teachings as the foundation of their faith. If they truly knew the Messiah, Yeshua, they would know that he taught us AGAINST the Pharisees and taught that they were not only hypocrites but also ravenous wolves and murderers. Saul openly admits that he’s a Pharisee, but Christian’s …well as you can see, they don’t listen to the Messiah and his warnings. They follow Saul/Paul’s teachings, not Yeshua’s teachings. As for what Peter says about Saul/Paul, this is clearly an addition to the original manuscript just as there are many additions made to new testament books by the early Catholic church in an effort to push their own religious dogma. I believe this is why Yeshua admonishes us many times ‘those who have eyes to see and ears to hear’, …because we must pray for discernment and that our eyes be opened to the truth. When you know Yeshua and his ways, you hear his voice and can recognize when it’s not his voice/his teachings. Just as a warning though, make sure that your faith is founded on a firm foundation such as there is ONLY ONE God almighty and his son Yeshua because if your faith is founded on Paul, you will be crushed when you find out that the truth is not what you’ve always been taught. The truth of the matter is this, Saul/Paul was a ringer for the Pharisees and a Trojan Horse for the Romans and he/Satan has deceived the whole world, and if it were possible, he will have managed to deceive even the very elect in the end. Study Saul/Paul’s writings, teachings and concepts completely. Study every place he quotes old testament scripture and see for yourself how he spins his lies and you’ll see that he is truly the spawn of Satan. Remember Yeshua said, “I am the way, the truth and the life”. He also said “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Yeshua also said that there are twelve thrones in heaven for the 12 Apostles (not 13). Paul is a false apostle. Pray that your eyes be opened and study and test Saul/Paul’s epistles completely. When you do, you will fully understand Yeshua’s parable of the wheat and tares as well as Jacob’s blessings to his sons when he prophesied about the Messiah coming from the line of Judah and the Ravenous Wolf coming from the line of Benjamin. Jesus said, why call me Lord, Lord, when you do not obey the words that I have spoken? Jesus said, If you love me you will keep my commandments. John 14:15 The false Apostle Paul is the First Anti-Christ. He said “I caught you by trickery” 2 Corinthians 12:16 Has Paul, the Imposter caught you by trickery?

As a sexual being who had problems, as a Christian, and as an emphatic student of 'A Course in Miracles' I want to congratulate and thank you for this magnificent presentation, Emily and Robert. My own personal experience confirms that you are 'spot on.' In ACIM Christ teaches that "He has come to give us the foundation, so our own thoughts can make us really free." T.5.IV.2. "Right-mindedness is healing." T-2.V.4:5 Heal the problem of separation and all other problems dissolve. ✨😊✨

Never, not ONE single time have I ever seen Course students not argue and tell one another they are wrong. Not once.

I have nothing against gay people, and I'm against violence of any kind, but this "pride" thing is so annoying. Why do you have to promote Lgbtq as if it is the next step in human evolution? Why are people suddenly "evil" just because they disagree with something in the lgbtq agenda, and why are people being called "backwards" just because they have a different opinion than mainstream society? What happened to freedom of thinking? Should we throw our critical thinking away so that we can easily accept every new social trend that appears? Btw, it's funny that you talk about "true equality" but you seem to put everyone who disagrees with you in a "out group". You don't seem to value the experiences of billions other people from many places and cultures all over the world. You only consider the views and opinions of the small social group you take part in. A very limited, white, privileged america-centric social group at that.

Perhaps teacher is a better word than leader. Like with Jesus, the great teacher,. Don't know if he saw himself as leader.

I think your presentation overall is really good and informative, but I think some of your explanations are misplaced. I will refer to them below We use day periods in practice because they are separated by long time of total unconsciousness (sleep). We think there is past so days are just used by Jesus and Holy Spirit in our practice. In the end they will be removed them completely from equation. They will not be important if you practice 24/7. I'm not aware of all implications why practice is done like this, but I know from my practice this is course of total commitment. Ambitions and goals will be totally integrated into one single goal. Most of them will be eradicated. Btw it is not in your graph, but final decision before going to sleep could be giving it to Holy Spirit for best use. There are some Lessons (like lesson 199) which add more layers to practice then we can see on graph. It is actually untrue that you can't practice for example single Lesson. You of course can if you feel you need it. It is told in Course you can use it more then for single day. If you keep the intention of going back to God, everything will be set by Holy Spirit according to this goal. I think everybody, who want to practice Course should understand that it is ruthless way of mind training for what we think is us (but it is just misplaced personality). Holy Spirit doesn't care about body, because body is a dream. Doesn't care about the circumstances in which you find yourself because everything we see using eyes is untrue. Try to practice when you are working on ER everyday, you will see how difficult it is. Emily mentioned about how hard is to practice during live meetings with other ourselves (ie other persons). I know this issue very well! All this difficulties have direct impact on our mental state. That's why we need to give all those problems and difficulties to Holy Spirit. We can't correct our reactions ourselves. Course learning is not process, as Emily said. It is actually 0 or 1 state. That's why concept of Holy Instant was introduced in a Course. You are with God or you are not. There are no other circumstances. There is no path to God because there are no other, outer factors. Only your decision. Theoretically you should do it in this moment. Can you? We can't because of convictions hidden in our common mind. Our practice structure brings us to elimination of time through unifying our goal to single one, i.e Holy Instant, moment of actual decision. So past doesn't matter. Calendar of our practice doesn't matter. Collecting Course practice experiences doesn't matter. You haven't mentioned about decision making process during a day at all. It is very important element of the practice to make decisions with Holy Spririt. Beginning can be very challenging but this practice will bring practitioner closer to Holy Spirit. This element is very important and should be introduced. About putting theory of Course into practice. Robert advised us how to set it. I found it very misleading. If you are new to this Course you may think it is small problem. It is actually an essence what we are doing here. You will go from your dedication of resolving your small world problems to dedication to single goal of going back home. This barrier is embodiment of our secret decision to stay here. Million obstacles will appear thanks to this practice and each one will be forgiven. Course is talking that sacrifice doesn't exist. But for small us it is a reality. So you actually need to ask God, Jesus and Holy Spirit and your community for this breakthrough. Through prayer, practice of Lessons, meditation, contact with Holy Spirit, thinking properly about other yous. You need a miracle. It may actually take time and may be very difficult. Don't do it yourself. I think I should mention how peace actually can manifest itself, when you practice Course all the time. It is not what new practitioners think. You are more and more relaxed and you stop worrying about terrifying things we are exposed to all the time: accidents, health problems, wars, tragedies, deaths, missing trains, black holes, problems in work etc. etc. You recognize stream of changes and tragedies doesn't stop. You will just stop reacting to it, because you know it those events are not true. This understanding will have direct impact to your goals and behaviors (and events you participate too). Try to for example gather material wealth if you know it is worthless. You just giving lower needs to be managed by Jesus and Holy Spirit and that's it. You are much more efficient in helping others and not so concerned what others thinks about you. So this is actually practice for your small mind to reach your real You. Small you will not survive this. We are not building anything in this world, because it can't be saved. It is not real. Course is very radical. There are no compromises. We just need to leave this place and we can't do it without everybody else.

i'm very grateful for the work y'all do. it is a true gift to humanity. honestly, i struggle, i keep trying to get on the boat, and am so glad you people are there to set examples and give information and encouragement. thank you from my heart.

I am coming from a Buddhist background and the Superconscious sounds very similar to the Higher Gods realms or Brahma realms. Basically we leave behind the Material Realm. And go into the Fine Material realms then the Ethers. You do this by Merging your consciousness with God. Transcending base drives like Sex and Food. Brahman gods are sexless and have no need for food as they live of the Bliss of Union with God.🍂 I have experienced only the first Superconscious mind level and the I or Me feeling completely gets inactivated. There is is oceanic bliss that emerges from the Union with God. No Feeling of I or Me or I AM. You exist with everything else not on your own. No boundaries or separation To get to this stage you need to go through a Purification system which involves a lot of bringing the subconscious into the conscious awareness through meditation and once it is in your conscious awareness Choose not to ruminate so Let it Go..by doing this you go through a process called The Thinning of the Me. So no longer invested in your story. Or the Egos story. It will fight back. The harshest Ego Backlash is when you try to enter the Superconscious state. The ego will threaten you with physical illness and every fear In Your subconscious. This is the test most people can't pass so they go back to Sleep. In the Superconscious state the Ego gets inactivated so it can not find you but you still have an attachment to Being. According to Buddhism this can only be uprooted completely as in stopping the movie projection of illusions when you See Reality Clearly.And it involves a lot of changes in Perception. Also i want to add that i was born strangely remembering before i was born and the Ego is extremely insidious as it created my current reality..Its completely projecting what is in my subconscious and its playing out as my current reality.Also there was this Veil placed on all of us.Its not made out of cloth.It's a dulling frequency much like a heavy blanket that suppresses our ability to see clearly or blocks perception.Its a blanket that makes us sleep. Samadhi meditation is my way of penetrating through the veil but i am faced with so much stuff in my subconscious bubbling up into the surface.To use christian terminology a lot of spiritual attacks.So have decided to work on the subconscious levels by performing more miracles. According to the Buddha you have to start by physical actions like generosity,morality and good deeds then go to sense restraint practices such as celibacy,fasting,giving up entertainments etc..all this you have to do...before you even do meditation or shift your perception to avoid extreme ego backlash as the Ego is fighting for its survival 🍂 Its a gradual purification from coarse physical actions to very refined ones,this helps regulate our nervous sysyem as the Ego is very connected to the limbic system/reptilian brain and sudden changes in perception can cause it to recoil.

Inspired by Marian Williamson & Eckhart Tolley, may I ask you if angels are dealt with in the course… I translate visually and continuously (energetic light beings) every plant or tree I see that angelic source of whatever I perceive…. I see bigger golden beings with the same shape, but lately I have been wondering whether this is source energy!? If I call upon a being then I see them and feel etc but clairaudience is the last “Clair” to kick in for me! I woke up recently and I heard the words in a male voice, ‘Life is infinite’!! I understand if you’re too busy to reply! 🌟

About 20+ years ago, I had a watch that was set to beep every 30 minutes. I used it as a reminder to look at any ego thoughts (old programming) that were happening inside, and then go of there value. It was an active process until the watch finally died decades later. It was invaluable along the journey of transformation.

Insight Timer app has wonderful guided meditations, some based on ACIM. One of my favorites is Lisa Venable.

I've found that as i go along the workbook , and then go back to the text I can understand the text better , I think it's not just mind training in information but also mind training in concentration ,lol , i am so relieved to hear you two share this talk, thankyou 🙏

Just a hint for those hourly practices. I found an alarm to be way too intrusive and irritating so instead I downloaded a mindfulness bell on my phone which is pleasant to the ear and only goes off once so I am not rushing to the phone to shut it off.

I so appreciate your explanations of this course. I had the book 30" years before starting it earnestly. I use various you tube persons to help me understand the lessons. I'm in my fourth year of study and am very happy I found you . Peace and blessings to you both.

This was very helpful! I'm six months into actively studying and learning. I will add the evening quiet time to my practice, I overlooked that, but good for me to adopt today. I now see how that will close out practicing the lesson for the day and set me up for the night and tomorrow. Beautiful. Thank you both!

Robert mentioned there was so much to say about "asking for guidance"...this might be an interesting podcast subject. More specifically, how is guidance communicated? Is it through others? Through your own thoughts? Through voices in your head? Could we ask for guidance on a Ouija board? It seems to be there are missteps that can be taken.

I need to share my experience with lesson 168, Your Grace given me. I claim it now. It showed me clearly what’s the doing nothing and observing means. We all read the book, we think we know what it means, but the fear and the guilt remains overwhelmingly present, I felt like drowning in it. But today something happened. In the morning I thought to talk to my husband about football, the Euro Cup is on. Because I felt guilty about always talking about ACIM, so I pretended I cared about football . So, when the conversation ended I started doing the lesson. But, anger took over me, I started to feel physically ill. Everything annoyed me with intensity , but I kept on repeating the little prayer at the end of the lesson. My heart was rising, I blamed the coffee, and my husband for making so much noise ( which he wasn’t) but I stayed focus on the lesson and suddenly I felt lifted and being placed in a balcony, in front of a theatre stage, only for an instant. And I understood. I had become the observer, the awareness, in other words, I joined, albeit for a nanosecond , God. There weren’t angels, or beautiful lights or music, but understanding. I understood that if I had become my angry thoughts, I mean reacted to the whole situation, I would have hurt my husband and myself and ruined our Sunday. . I finished the lesson, took a shower and I felt better. As the day progressed I felt happier, and at peace. I understood that wanting to have your perception healed is also to have the best possible outcome, peace. In many conflicting situations I always want to have the outcome I think it would make me happy, to be right and others wrong. But, is it the best outcome? By doing nothing ( staying with it, observing) I changed the outcome. We don’t have to become mother Theresa to make a difference, by not becoming our thoughts we are extending our love, true love. I can’t describe it, it has nothing to do with the patronising kind of love we give. Now I see what happened like this, felt guilty , I was punishing myself for being an hypocrite , and immediately I blamed the noise, my husband my sickness for the way I felt, but I chose to observe it and I became the observer and did nothing, I got what the only thing I really want Peace.
